I created these illustrations digitally. I loved the art style of I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen, and took inspiration from that book for the character designs of Fred the Penguin. I wanted a very cold feel for the style, so I stuck with primarily hues of blue, the primary contrast coming from the bright orange of the dusky sky. Pictured right are the earliest character concepts, as well as the final color palette used in the illustrations.

Battle for the Kingdom (2024)

I illustrated this book digitally, with the aim of achieving a more comic-like appearance to fit with the flashy tone of the story. I wanted to keep the colors bright and fun, and the characters to be visually distinct.
